Want to Play Dungeons and Dragons

Want to Play Dungeons and Dragons

Gaming twice a month

At the Thomas Poole Library, our love of storytelling and imagination goes far beyond books. We are home to a thriving Dungeons and Dragons community, and we regularly open the doors for new adventurers and aspiring Dungeon Masters to get involved.

On the first and third Saturday of every month, from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, the library hosts Dungeons and Dragons sessions that welcome everyone, whether you are completely new to tabletop roleplaying games or already familiar with the world of D&D. These sessions are a chance to learn the basics, take part in guided play, and explore what makes the game so creative and collaborative.

Alongside this, we also run Dungeon Master workshops, offering a supportive space to try your hand at running a game yourself. If you have ever been curious about creating worlds, guiding players through adventures, or building confidence as a storyteller, these workshops are designed to help you give it a go. No prior experience is needed, and all equipment and guidance are provided.

Sessions are suitable for ages 8 and over, and are friendly, inclusive, and relaxed. Whether you want to roll your first dice, learn how the game works, or step into the role of Dungeon Master, you will find a welcoming table waiting for you at the Thomas Poole Library.
