The Book Chain
By Rachael Wong
A story of friendship, loss, love and rediscovery.
Arriving in Ljubljana at the head of an invasion force in 1941, Alberto Amantelli finds its citizens passing books by hand through the streets to fill their new National Library. He makes a brave and unexpected decision which changes his own life irrevocably – and the lives of those he comes to love.
In 2025, Kate is falling apart. She’s held together by the thread of friendship with a small group of loyal women. When Kate is unexpectedly drawn into a mystery connected to Alberto’s story, can she and her friends unravel Alberto’s secrets? And is Kate prepared for the consequences?
“I couldn’t put it down. Rachael Wong is a talented storyteller.”
