Steart Marshes
Steart Marshes – Working with Nature
with Nicole Turnbull, Engagement and Learning Manager
A talk for all those interested in wildlife, conservation, and the future of our natural landscapes.
We are fortunate to have the WWT’s pioneering Steart Marshes reserve right on our doorstep — a remarkable example of how working with nature can help tackle climate change.
This thriving wetland is now a haven for wildlife, home to visiting wading birds and nesting avocets, and a peaceful, ever-changing landscape to explore.
Nicole Turnbull, Engagement and Learning Manager, will share the fascinating story behind the reserve’s creation and explain how it also serves as a vital natural flood defence. She will also highlight the innovative education programmes that connect both children and adults with the natural world.
An inspiring talk about nature, resilience, and the power of working with the environment rather than against it.
Tickets are £6 for adults (children are free)
