DESCRIPTION:\nThe Nature of the Quantocks\n\n\n\nA book launch of The Nature of Somerset’s Coast by resident Nigel Phillips. Nigel Phillips worked for the Wildlife Trusts as a nature reserve manager and ecologist for more than thirty years. In 2013, he became the Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Coast Ambassador. He set up and chaired the Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Marine Awareness Campaign, which has run a programme of coastal and marine events along the coast over several years. Nigel has written three books on the wildlife of Somerset’s coast, “Somerset’s Coast a Living Landscape” and “A Guide To Finding Seashore & Rockpool Life in Somerset” and “The Nature Of Somerset’s Coast”.\n\n\n\nIn 2016, he was awarded the “Marsh Award for Marine Conservation” in recognition of his outstanding contribution to marine conservation work being carried out by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.\n\n\n\nLiving in Nether Stowey, on the lower slopes of Quantock, has allowed Nigel to explore the hills on an almost daily basis. “The Nature Of The Quantocks” is the product of something like thirty years of in-depth research and photography.\n\n\n\n“The Nature Of The Quantocks” is published by Pisces Publications.\n\n\n\nNigel’s Quantock book was written to support the work of the charity Friends Of The Quantocks.\n\n\n\nThe entry price is £3.50 for Thomas Poole Library charity members and £4.50 for non-members.\n\n\n\nBooking is essential.
